​Cortney is a former literary agent; she graduated from NYU in 2017 with a bachelor's in English, and minors in Creative Writing and Psychology. She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, son, and fur babies.

As of January 2024, Cortney is no longer representing authors and no longer accepting queries.
